trailer full of the items one group uses to help kids keep an active lifestyle. for a young athlete... not much can compare to the feeling of crossing the finish line of their first trialthon... 19:07:12 we consider it to be the best day ever for the kids that come to races... making it possible is a passion for michael zimmerman and his organization rip roar events. (if you're the last finisher of the day its the most epic... if you're last you're first) the group puts on trialthons for kids ages 5-15... he says it's all about giving them an outlet to keep moving 19:05:25 theres a small group of people that choose to wake up on a saturday morning and instead of cartoons and video games, come bike. but something happened sunday night that threatens the future of all of that... 19:06:24 all of the things we use to produce the races was stolen off the lot. all the race equipment the group owned was in a trailer parked at 600 sw 7th street in des moines... there was a hitch lock on it they must have take it off ... they took off... monday morning... it was gone. the theft was caught on survelliance cameras... here you can see the trailer being pulled away by this pickup truck... perhaps they thought it was a construction trailer and thought there would be tools... idk why else someone would take it. zimmerman hopes the thief realizes their mistake... 19:07:57 the stuff inside is incredibly valuable to us, but it doesn't really hold any real world value, except

10:06 pm
sites have been deemed "flu free" and now the agriculture secretary says all exhibits are back on for the new year including the iowa state fair, auctions and swap meets. " "everybody is optiimisitic. the resilency to get back into business, iowans its certanly good to be around folks like that... on to 2016"" jack: iowa was hit the hardest among midwestern states, seeing 77 poultry operations report the disease. 31 million chickens and turkeys were infected and had to be euthanized. federal and state agencies paid out 400 million dollars to clean up and sanitize farms. and another 400 million dollars was lost in producer income this year because of the bird flu. jack1/shot: a dart bus just caught fire earlier tonight. it happened a little after 5 on

iowa, behind hillary clinton and bernie sanders. so he does have a lot of ground to make up. his campaign staff say o'malley will be spending a majority of the next month here in iowa to campaign ahead of the caucuses, along with some time in new hampshire, where their primary is a week after the iowa caucuses. jack: in boone, republican presidential candidate marco rubio spoke to voters on why he's running for president depsite his young age. he also talked about combatting isis. rubio has been a strong advocate for a stricter immigration system to thwart terrorists from entering the states. "we know for a fact that isis is looking to manipulate our immigration system and our illegal immigration problems to bring in killers to the united states. we have to deal with it as a national security issue first and foremost. which is why the principal that will guide me on immigration s is pretty straightforward: if we don't know 100 percent who you are and why you are coming, you can't come in. jack: rubio is

" we're here on the u.s.s iowa where earlier i got the chance to walk around the battleship which is now a museum for visitors to come out and see. it's a great experience. i got to go down into the engine room, the boilers, even fdr's tub. let's take a look. down the stairs we go-- joined by u.s.s iowa curator david way-- steps taken by thousands of marines and sailors decades ago. there was a 1500 member crew during the 80's the cold war

" probably what you'e looking at are two teams that have competed extremely hard week in week out the entire season they're a very well coached football team, they're very physical, they've got good players, really good players. what strikes me is the effort they play with the team work, the coesiveness. all year you just watched iowa find a way to win and no one said anything, you watch em again next week they found a way to win and no one said anything they have a week they found a way
